International winter conference of Moscow State University
"Hydrodynamic Instability and Turbulence"
is held traditionally biennially in the Moscow park zone suburbs.
The scientists in mechanics, physics, mathematics, astronomy,
geophysics, ecology and applied sciences take part in its work.
Well-known foreign and our country scientists are invited lecturers.
Besides, there are oral presentations, posters, seminars and discussions.
The abstracts are published in Russian and English.
The central focuses of scientific interest are the models
of laminar-turbulence transition, the theory of turbulence,
direct numerical simulation of turbulent flows and
its experimental investigation.
The great attention is given to the problems, connected with
low gravity flows, wind engineering, environmental aerodynamics,
ecology problems, connected with fluid flows and so on.

First conference took place in near Moscow small town Kolyubakino
in February 1976.
Academician
G. I. Petrov.
was its organizer and chairman for many years.
The conference became international since 1992.
In 2002 the conference was devoted to 90 years anniversary of
G. I. Petrov. It was 15th conference, which celebrated its 25 years
jubilee.
